Canada’s digital future needs youth
We’re building the next generation of Canadian digital leaders
The Young Digital Leaders of Canada was founded with one purpose: to build the next generation of Canadian digital leaders. We believe youth ought to have their seat at the digital governance table, and are working to fulfill this mission.
What We Do
Canada Youth Internet Governance Forum
We are recognized by the United Nations Global Internet Governance Forum (IGF) as Canada’s Youth IGF Coordinators
Canada Young AI Leaders Community
We coordinate Canadian youth interested in AI across Canada as municipal ‘hubs’
Global Digital Governance
We bring Canadian youth to global digital governance decision-making tables through delegations and supporting international fellowship opportunities
Youth Advisory Committees
We help Canadian corporations working in digital technologies with their youth advisory committees
Our Values:
Regionality: we believe youth from all across Canada should have equal opportunity to become digital leaders.
Representation: we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusivity make us stronger. We work to ensure that youth from traditionally “under-represented communities” have equal access to opportunities to become next generation Canadian digital leaders.
Impact: we believe that youth should be considered as a distinct stakeholder group in digital governance. We believe this youth as stakeholder impact should be recognized both domestically and internationally.
Multistakeholder: we believe that the collaborative multistakeholder governance model allows for leadership to rise in digital governance and ought to be utilized in this space.
