ICANN hosts various newcomer opportunities which support youth with travel and accommodation costs to attend ICANN meetings around the world.

NextGen@ICANN

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has a mission to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet, working with stakeholders across the world. The NextGen@ICANN Program provides students with an opportunity to learn about ICANN’s mission and meaningfully contribute to the discussions and decisions that shape the internet. Students will receive coaching, guidance and travel support to attend an ICANN meeting and as a pathway into the ICANN ecosystem.

An eligible participant must be enrolled as an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student; be between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time of the ICANN meeting; and currently living and studying in the region of the ICANN meeting.

ICANN Fellowship Program

ICANN’s Fellowship Program creates opportunities for individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities to become active participants in the ICANN community, thereby enhancing multistakeholder governance. Fellows will learn about how ICANN operates, receive mentorship and training, and receive travel support to attend an ICANN public meeting.

Fellows must be at least 21 years old, interested in ICANN’s work and mission, and complete mandatory ICANN Learn courses. There are also eligibility criteria related to previous fellowships or supported travel programs completed.
