Bianca Salamis
Interim Director of Engagement
Bianca is a public policy professional and recent graduate of the Master of Public Policy program at Simon Fraser University’s School of Public Policy. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to advancing safer, more equitable digital spaces particularly for young women.
Her thesis research focused on technology-facilitated gender-based violence, with particular attention to emerging online harms such as AI-generated deepfake abuse. Through this work, Bianca examined how Canadian policy frameworks can better integrate gender-sensitive, victim-centric approaches to online safety. She is especially interested in bridging the gap between lived experience and policymaking to ensure that those most affected by digital harms are meaningfully reflected in policy solutions.
Having grown up amidst the rapid rise of social media, and being forced to navigate it without a map, Bianca brings a deeply personal perspective to her work. She is passionate about advocating for responsive, inclusive policies that protect and empower individuals in an increasingly digital world.
